1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ashvale Games Studio (“Ashvale”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you play our games, visit our website, or contact us for support. In this policy we refer to our games and our website together as the “Services”.
“Personal information” means any information that identifies you or that can reasonably be linked to you, either on its own or when combined with other information we hold.
Ashvale Games Studio is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Some of our games may be operated together with a publishing or platform partner; where that is the case, the game itself will tell you and the partner’s own privacy policy will also apply.
Please read this policy carefully. By using our Services, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled as described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information in three ways.
2.1 Information you give us
- Account and profile details — such as a username, display name, avatar, age or date of birth, and an email address, where a game asks you to register.
- Support and correspondence — the contents of messages you send us, including support tickets, bug reports and any attachments or screenshots you choose to share.
- In-game communications — messages you send through chat, clan or team features, and user names you choose, where a game offers those features.
- Survey, playtest and competition entries — information you provide when you take part in research, beta tests, giveaways or community events we run.
- Purchase details — records of in-game purchases. Payments are processed by the app store or payment provider, not by us; we receive confirmation of the transaction but not your full card number.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical information — device model, operating system and version, language and region settings, screen resolution, network type, browser type, crash reports and performance diagnostics.
- Identifiers — IP address, advertising identifiers (such as the Apple Identifier for Advertisers or Google Advertising ID), and identifiers we generate to recognise your installation of a game.
- Gameplay information — levels reached, scores, progress, in-game items, session length and frequency, settings you change, and the features you interact with.
- Approximate location — a general location such as country or region, usually derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location unless a game asks for it and you grant permission.
- Cookies and similar technologies — on our website we use cookies and comparable technologies, and in our games we use SDKs that serve a similar purpose, to keep the Services working, to remember preferences, and to measure performance.
2.3 Information from third parties
- App stores and platforms — confirmation of purchases, subscription status and, where relevant, basic account information they pass to us.
- Advertising and analytics partners — aggregated or pseudonymised data about how our adverts perform, which installations came from which campaign, and how our games are used.
- Service providers — information from the vendors who help us run support, hosting, anti-fraud and infrastructure on our behalf.
- Publishing partners — where a game is distributed with a partner, information they share with us under our agreement with them.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- provide the Services — run our games, save your progress, deliver purchased content and maintain your account;
- operate and improve our games — fix bugs, diagnose crashes, test new features, balance difficulty and measure whether changes make the experience better;
- provide customer support — respond to your questions, investigate issues you report and restore lost progress or purchases;
- understand how our Services are used — analyse gameplay and usage trends, and group players into broad segments so we can tailor content and offers;
- personalise your experience — recommend content, adjust in-game offers and show you what is most relevant to how you play;
- show and measure advertising — serve adverts inside our games, promote our games elsewhere, and measure how well those adverts work;
- communicate with you — send service messages, updates about our games, and, where you have chosen to receive them, push notifications and marketing emails;
- keep the Services safe — detect and prevent cheating, fraud, abuse and unauthorised access, and enforce our terms; and
- meet legal obligations — comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases for processing your personal information:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the games and features you have asked for, and to deliver what you have purchased.
- Legitimate interests — to improve and secure our Services, prevent fraud and cheating, understand how our games are played, and carry out direct marketing where permitted. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
- Consent — for personalised advertising, certain cookies and similar technologies, push notifications and marketing messages, where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
- Legal obligation — where we must process information to comply with the law.
6. Advertising and Analytics
Some of our games are supported by advertising. Our advertising partners may use device identifiers, IP address and information about your activity to select adverts, limit how often you see the same advert, and measure whether an advert led to an install or a purchase.
You can limit personalised advertising at any time:
- iOS — decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track in your device privacy settings.
- Android — use Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalisation in your device settings.
- Website — adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies, and use any consent controls we present to you.
Opting out does not stop you from seeing adverts; it means the adverts you see will be less relevant to you.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age at which consent is required in their country. Where a game is rated for a younger audience, we apply additional protections, including limiting data collection and disabling personalised advertising.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us at privacy@ashvalegames.com and we will delete that information. We encourage parents and guardians to take an active interest in the games their children play and to review this policy with them.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. In practice that means:
- account and gameplay information is kept while your account is active, and for a limited period afterwards so that you can return to your progress;
- support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve your issue and to handle any follow-up;
- transaction records are kept for the period required by tax, accounting and consumer protection law; and
- technical logs and analytics data are kept for a shorter period, and are often aggregated or de-identified.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it so that it can no longer be linked to you. Deleted information may remain in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
9. International Transfers
We and our service providers operate internationally, so your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from countries other than the one you live in. Those countries may have different data protection laws.
Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on an adequacy decision covering the destination country, or we put appropriate safeguards in place such as standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authority, together with any additional measures needed to protect your information.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access — including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting access to staff and providers who need it.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please help protect your account by keeping your login details confidential and contacting us if you think your account has been compromised.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information:
- Access — ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you and to provide a copy.
- Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Restriction and objection — ask us to limit how we use your information, or object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Portability — ask us to provide certain information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- Opt out of targeted advertising — ask us to stop sharing your information for targeted advertising, as described in section 6.
- Non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email us at privacy@ashvalegames.com. We may need to ask for information to verify who you are before we act, and an authorised agent may make a request on your behalf where the law allows it. We respond within the timeframes set by applicable law.
You can also manage some choices yourself: turn push notifications on or off in your device settings, unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message, and adjust advertising identifiers as described in section 6.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
Our Services may contain adverts for, or links to, websites, apps and services operated by others. This policy does not cover those services, and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any third-party service before providing it with your information.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, our practices, or the law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will give you additional notice — for example through a message in the relevant game or by email — and, where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent.
